Honda PCX 125cc
Honda PCX 125cc is a small displacement scooter and with the rise in fuel price many commuters are searching for cheap methods of transportation. Honda PCX inspires to design new models which are easy to handle and provide complete fuel economy .A scooter offers low cost ride and it can be used to carry luggage and move through the city crowd easily.
In the international market the scooter is priced at more than $3000 but it has been appreciated for low noise, low emission and easy ride.
Look and Design
The Honda PCX is designed to provide comfort to rider at a low cost .It has a compact design which looks very new and fashionable. The look of Honda PCX is better than many attractive looking sports bikes. The bike is designed in three colors Black Nighhawk, Goldbullion Metallic and Silverstone Metallic.
The scooter PCX 125i has a saddle like structure with dark gray wheels. It appears young and gives luxurious look. It provides enough space for the rider to carry luggage and the front windscreen provides protection whereas the front cowl is designed perfectly to give a full appearance. The headlight is slim and the instrument panel includes the speedometer and “idles stop” switch that prevents wastage of fuel.
Engine
It has a compact lightweight SOHC configuration and it also integrates liquid cooling, Honda PGM – FI fuel injection which ensures better power delivery, V- belt transmission to reduce emission and improve fuel consumption. The engine improves efficiency and gives a compact look.
The throttle is automatic as the electronic sensors can register the throttle position and signal the ECU to initiate fuel injection and the Alternative Current Cell starter motor is powerful which helps the engine to work efficiently.
Comfort and ride
The structure is based on tubular frame and the extended foot area enables easy ride and sitting position and wheelbase of 1305, makes it easy to move the bike in crowded spaces.
The seat is positioned low and it will suit short height bikers and also provide complete security and relaxed feeling. The seat style provides a back support to prevent exhaustion in long journeys. The back support and wide pillion area is a new feature.
It has an “Idle stop” system – if it is enabled, the bike will automatically stop after 3 seconds and restart if the throttle grip is twisted. The mode can be switched on and off and it is positioned on the handlebar .Its improves fuel efficiency by 5%.
The compact structure, the wide legroom, height of 760 mm, and wheelbase of 1305 mm offers easy ride and handling. The telescopic fork in the front and swing arm dual shock in the rear enables easy handling and the single cylinder 4 stroke provides automatic shutdown and reboot.
The tyres are 14″ and wheels is made up of 5 – spoke cast aluminum .It comes with a combined brake system and the front disc brake is 220 mm and the rear brake is drum brake which makes it smooth and comfortable to ride the bike.
The suspension system is 31 mm telescopic front fork and the rear suspension is swingarm suspension with dual dampers.
The fuel tank is 6.2 litre tank and the bike provides 46 kilometer per liter of fuel efficiency.
Specific features
1. Easy shift in transmission: It has CV Matic which enables easy shift in transmission and it reduces loss of energy. It has an electric starter which uses the cell power and the current generator to generate power and to reduce the noise.
2. Both electric and kick start: It has electric starter which is based on the PGM – FI system and it can work in any weather condition – such as cold or rainy but a kick starter is also provided to prevent inconvenience. Honda PCX come with a key slot cover which ensure security of the bike.
3. Start Stop system: The automatic start stop system enables the engine to stop immediately on red light – it prevents fuel wastage (this feature is not provide in U.S. model) and the bike adopts the Emission Standards at level 6 of Thailand and the current exhaust emission standards of Europe, Japan and U.S. It has an electronic fuel injection system and a catalyst device in the muffler.
4. Combined brake system: The Combined brake system helps the bike to get stable braking and the bike comes with 3 cylinder drilling.
5. Anti theft alarm: It is provided with the remote control alarm system which enables the bike to give fire alarm and it sends messages.
6. Storage Space: Storage space is provided in the form of glove box and the rear carrier can provide enough space.
